Juanita Weeden

Juanita June (Hudson) Weeden, age 90, passed away Thursday evening, February 28, 2023, at Memorial Hospital Cardiac Unit in San Antonio, TX.

Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday March 9, 2023, at 3:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Juanita June was born August 8, 1932, in Midland, to Wilburn "Floyd" Hudson and Flora Dell (Collins) Hudson. She was raised in Andrews, Texas. She married Billy Paul Weeden on December 25, 1952, in Andrews. She began her work career at the ice house in Odessa, TX. She continued her education in the office trades. Juanita formed many life-long friendships with "the girls at the office" while working for the city, the bank, retiring from Wood Oil. She and Bill had a dairy farm in California before starting a family in Texas again. They had brought with them Morgan horses. They opened many rodeos and competed with the Morgans. Their interests moved into show cars and the car club. They were into boating and riding quads. Juanita loved to travel. If she was in the forest, the mountains, the sand dunes or the lake, she was in her happy place. She thrived on adventure and activity.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one of her Sisters, Joyce Whitten of Florida, and her husband of 62 years, Bill.

Juanita is survived by her son Gary Weeden (Brenda) of Odessa, TX; granddaughter Kimberly Tullous (Derrick); and two great-granddaughters: Juliana and Jayla Martinez of Bay City, TX; and sisters Von Dell and Janice Ann.
